She graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 1992. Her work received unanimous congratulations from the jury and the support of Jean-Michel Alberola and Shirley Jaffe.

The artist integrates photography into her work from 1993 during a stay in Berlin. Hannaka works and exhibits for a few years in Paris, then, in 2001, she returns to live in the south and installs her studio in an old factory in the back country of Nice.

During the following years, photography became her main medium. However, her formal approach to photography directly echoes her practice of drawing, a practice that she has loved since the beginning of her artistic experiments. In her photographs, she seeks movement, erasure, impermanence, trace and remanence in the same way that a draftsman tames forms.

In 2007, during a solo exhibition at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she presented photographs from New York and began a collaboration with several galleries: Galerie du Fleuve (Paris), Galerie Rigassi (Bern) and Galerie Depardieu (Nice). Thanks to the support of her gallery owners, she produced her first solo exhibitions and began to participate in numerous collective events and international contemporary art fairs.

In 2017, following a family tragedy, the artist’s work changes to become more intimate. It is no longer a work of observation of what surrounds him but a deep and intimate introspection that begins. A work linked to the body, to wounds, to childhood.
She returns to certain media that she had put aside: drawing, installation, video, writing, which she mixes with her photographs.

In 2022, memory, absence and intimacy are the main themes that the artist addresses in his work.

Personal exhibitions Expositions collectives Awards Biography Hannaka is a French artist born in Monaco on July 23, 1966, of a […]

["post-2439","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
